Real food Salon is the name I dubbed the first real food reasoning session I facilitated in a private home. My cousin Joanna had been over for Sunday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the real food dishes I had prepared. She emailed me several days later:
I want to invite you over to my place for a cooking session with some of my close friends who are very interested in eating healthier and more natural.

Similar requests to make food and share real food recipes and info had been coming my way. So I tweaked the my original food literacy workshop format to meet the group's interests and voila!, a real food education event was born!
We each told some friends and set a date. A couple of Sundays later, a lively three-hour session took place in my neighbour's living room where we had assembled an inquisitive group of young urban professionals, including a pair of moms with their kids all eager to get real with their eating habits and to give this green smoothie thing a taste-test.
The event was an inspiring success! Check out the pics here!
I'm infinitely grateful for this opportunity to engage my family, friends and wider community in a pro-active discussion about the real nourishment our bodies require in order for us to be whole, healthy and well.
